Easy recipe to Boost your immune system

Welcome to Day 2 of our Winter Wellness Challenge!

Today, we have a delightful recipe for a heartwarming cacao drink.

Did you know, cacao is a superfood, offering benefits such as:

  • Boosts your immune system

  • Rich in iron + other minerals

  • Supports your gut health

  • Helps boosts mood

  • Improves sleep quality

Recipe

INGREDIENTS

Chocolate base:

  • -1/2 Cup of Cacao or Cocoa (depending on your preference)

  • -1/4 Cup of water: To be adjusted depending on desired thickness

  • 1 can of coconut milk*

  • 1 Tbs of any preferred sweetener (honey, molasses or maple syrup)

Additional seasonings:

  • -Pinch of cayenne pepper

  • -3 tsp cinnamon

  • -1 tsp ginger

  • -1 tsp cardamom

  • -1 tsp all spice

  • -1 tsp nutmeg

METHOD:


1. Combine the cacao/cocoa, and any additional spices into a bowel. Stir till everything is combined.

2. Add the water to the dry ingredients to form a paste. Whisk till a smooth paste is formed.

3. Add the chocolate and spice paste into a saucepan with the coconut milk and sweetener. On a low heat gently stir the mixture to combine. Once all combined take off heat and decant into a jar. Keep the mixture in the fridge.

4. To Use: Pour some mixture into a cup. Add hot water, mix and enjoy!

*You can use any type of milk you prefer
